Amidst the rugged terrain and physical challenges, attendees can indulge in luxury amenities and services, offering a stark contrast to traditional ultra events.

This distinction makes it particularly attractive to those who have previously tackled different ultras and seek a departure from roughing it out. It's an opportunity to push personal limits in a refined setting, fostering a sense of adventure and exclusivity.

What level of fitness do I need to sign up for Highland Kings?

If you can jog for 30 minutes, complete a local parkrun or cycle for an hour, we’re confident you can become a Highland Warrior if you follow a training plan through to the race.

The team at HK can provide additional training and individual coaching should this be required, get in touch to find out more.

How will I be kept safe throughout the event

The Highland Kings Ultra takes place in one of the most remote and scenic parts of the United Kingdom, and the safety of our athletes is paramount at all times.

Each day’s stage will have radio-marshalled rest stops and a minimum of two medical checkpoints.

Each route will be emailed to you for downloading to your GPS watch, with a full briefing prior to the event so that athletes understand and will prevent them going off course – even by a few metres.

An experienced ‘sweeper’ runner will also ensure that the final athlete on each stage is making steady progress and will offer encouragement where required.

All athletes will also be issued with a small GPS tracking device that will monitor their whereabouts throughout the event, and allow our team of highly experienced paramedics who specialise in outdoor pursuits to act promptly if required.

All-terrain 4x4 vehicles will be used should we need to reach an athlete quickly, and mountain rescue for emergencies.
